The St. Mary's Athletic Association sponsors many team sports for boys and girls in grades K-8. St. Mary's participates in both intramural (in-house) leagues for the youngest children and Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) leagues for the older children. CYO leagues compete with other parish teams in the Archdiocese and are governed by CYO/OYM rules.

The St. Mary's Athletics Association is run by parent volunteers and teams are coached by adults who have been certified by the CYO to coach youth teams.

To be eligible to participate, a child must be a Catholic School or a School of Religion student. Children wishing to participate in the CYO leagues must also have a baptismal certificate. Membership in the St. Mary's Parish is preferred but not a sole requirement, provided the above criteria is met.

In keeping with the teachings and objectives of the Catholic Church, the St. Mary's Athletics Association emphasizes among its coaches, players, parents and supporters, these concepts: participation for all players regardless of skill level, sportsmanship, teamwork and improvement of one's athletic fundamentals, just to name a few.
